  • Hamilton County (Chattanooga Area): Same as above

These restrictions apply Monday through Friday.

Special Load Restrictions

  • Superloads: Restricted to daylight hours only
  • Houseboats: Restricted to daylight hours only
  • Mobile Homes: Restricted to daylight hours only
  • Site Built House movements: Restricted to daylight hours unless nighttime movement is approved by local authorities

Signage Requirements

For movements exceeding 10 feet in width or 75 feet in length:

  • Oversize Load sign required on front and rear
  • Sign specifications:
    • Seven feet long
    • Eighteen inches high
    • Yellow background with black lettering
    • Letters must be at least 10 inches high with 1-⅝ inch stroke
    • Signs must be in good shape, clean, and readable

Note: Overweight loads also require Oversize Load signs as per scale office requirements, though rules may vary.

Flag Protocol

  • Overwidth loads: Red flags required on front, rear, top, and bottom of each widest side
  • Overlength loads: Flags needed at the end of the load
  • Rear overhang of 4 feet or more: Flags required

Lighting Guidelines

  • Loads exceeding 75 feet but not more than 85 feet: Strobe or rotating amber light required at the end of the load
  • Overheight-only loads: No specific light requirements
