- Also required on two-lane highways when load exceeds 59-1/2 feet in length
Flag Protocol

- Rear overhang of 4 feet or more must be flagged
- Flag specifications:
- Solid red or fluorescent orange
- At least 18 inches by 18 inches
- Placed at the four corners of the vehicle/load and on extremities
Lighting Guidelines
- Required only for vehicles traveling after dark (1/2 hour after sunset to 1/2 hour before sunrise)
- Must be visible from a minimum of 500 feet
- Steady burning lights required
