  • Flags should be displayed at four corners and/or the widest points for widths over 102 feet
  • Flags must be at least 18 inches square and red or orange fluorescent
  • Secure flags to the vehicle or load at least one corner, or mount on a staff
  • For rear overhangs exceeding 4 feet where the load is 2 feet wide or less, one flag is required at the extreme rear

Lighting Guidelines

  • Load hauling vehicles and escort vehicles must travel with low-beam headlights on at all times
  • While not required, load-hauling vehicles may display a flashing 360-degree yellow (amber) light above the highest point of the vehicle
  • A second flashing 360-degree light may be used at the rear of the load if the load obstructs the visibility of the primary light
